An avid supporter of the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe submitted the cause for ResorTime’s crowdsourced giving contest, beCause Destination Matters.

Thousands of people voted for the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe, which won the $2,500 donation from ResorTime. The enthusiastic response inspired ResorTime to host a follow-up contest in which our fans submitted photos and stories of their beloved family pets.

One Lucky Family

The Aguilar family was chosen to present the $2,500 check to the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe after they shared a photo of Oso, their miniature poodle, on the beach in Lake Tahoe. The family of four also received an all-expenses-paid weekend at Tahoe Beach & Ski Club in South Lake Tahoe, California.

“ResorTime and its customers are making an impact by helping us give local pets a second chance,” explains Kara Carstensen, adoption specialist and community spay/neuter program manager at the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. “This donation will provide food, vaccinations, and spay or neuter surgeries for two litters of puppies.”
