| Local AreaIn the Sitgreaves National Forest north of the Mogollon Rim at an elevation of over 6,000 feet is Bison Ranch, a resort out of a day gone by. This Old West town is part of Arizona's Rim County, surrounded by forested mountains, stunning canyons and miles of trails through the blooming desert.
The Resort The resort is right in the middle of Main Street in an Old Western town with it's own saloon, general store and coffe shop. Take off for a day of exploring on horeseback, or enjoy a lazy day at the on-site catch and release pond. The condos feature a gas fireplace, private balcony or terrace, Murphy bed and washer and dryer. Set up a family photo shoot in full western gear in the resort's clubhouse and take home a reminder of your trip to the Old West.
Nearby AttractionsThe Bison Ranch is a little more than an hour drive from the White Mountains of Arizona, part of the Apache National Forest. Sitgreaves National Forest's Mogollon Rim is home to eight cold-water lakes and together these forests contain more than two million acres of stunning mountain terrain. In the white Mountains you will find the Kinishba Ruins, a Puebloan village consisting of over 600 rooms dating back to 1250 A.D. Or head back a bit farther in time with a visit to the Petrified National Forest National Park.
