James Madison's Montpelier
The Montpelier Foundation's primary mission is to present the lasting legacy of James Madison as Father of the U.S. Constitution, architect of the Bill of Rights, and fourth president of the United States. To accomplish this, the Foundation is developing Montpelier as a place to learn about Madison's legacy and his vision of a constitutional government that is upheld by engaged citizens.
James Monroe's Ash Lawn-Highland
Ash Lawn-Highland is an historic house museum, 535-acre working farm, and performing arts site in Albemarle County, Virginia. President James Monroe and his wife, Elizabeth Kortright Monroe of New York, owned Ash Lawn-Highland from 1793 to 1826 and made it their official residence from 1799 to 1823. After the Monroes' death, the name of their farm was changed from "Highland" to "Ash Lawn"; today both names are used.

Thomas Jefferson's Monticello
The Thomas Jefferson Foundation (formerly the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation) owns and operates Monticello, the mountaintop home of Thomas Jefferson and the only home in America on the elite World Heritage List of the United Nations. The Foundation purchased the house and land from the Levy family, stewards of the estate for 89 years. As a private, nonprofit organization, the Foundation receives no regular federal or state budget support for its twofold mission of preservation and education.

Fort Ward Museum
Fort Ward is the best preserved of the system of Union forts and batteries built to protect Washington, DC during the American Civil War. Fort Ward Museum interprets the site's history and offers exhibits on Civil War topics, education and interpretive programs, tours, lecture and video series, bus tours, and living history activities throughout the year. The Museum and Historic Site also interpret Alexandria, Virginia as an occupied city, the city's role as a vital Union Army crossroads, life within the Defenses of Washington, and the everyday life of Civil War soldiers and civilians.
