Wine not? A Family Friendly Day in Napa Valley

A journey through Napa Valley is a great way to feed the mind, body and soul. It’s hard not to fall in love with the quaint vineyards and their history, the delicious cuisine, and the charm of the city that’s inviting not only for adults, but families, too! Take a walk in lifestyle blogger Jenna Francisco’s shoes as she travels through Napa with her family. Jenna took over RiverPointe Napa Valley’s Instagram to show us how to do Napa right, one unique, family-friendly experience at a time. Find out more about Jenna on her blog, This is My Happiness.

Take in Napa Valley views from a different perspective next time you’re in town, whether that’s biking through wine country or looking for a more casual meal. After taking a bike ride around RiverPointe Napa Valley’s private cottages, enjoying the scenic river route, Jenna tried a more affordable, family friendly restaurant, proving your Napa Valley vacation doesn’t need to be built around wine and cheese. Try the delicious flavors bursting from Buster’s Southern BBQ, serving up fresh meats since 1965.

After lunch add a unique twist to your vineyard tour of Napa Valley by exploring wineries like Tank Garage Winery, which operates inside a retro 1930’s era gas station. This fun winery serves up fruity wines and is complimented by a vintage gaming room and memorabilia that’s ideal for families. The wineries goal is to celebrate the heart and soul of vintage California culture and creativity in the heart of wine country. Jenna’s kids loved playing pinball and other vintage arcade games while visiting this eclectic winery.

It’s easy to fall in love with Napa Valley due to its endless charm. Try exploring V. Sattui Winery for its idyllic wine country vibes. The winery was originally started in 1885 by Vittorio Sattui, who, after emigrating from Genoa, Italy, was forced to shut it down during prohibition. The winery stayed dormant until 1976 but it’s still bursting with vintage charm today! Jenna explored the grounds capturing the old feel of this rustic gem that was fun for the whole family to explore.

After a day of wine country fun, wind down at the scenic picnic spot at the V. Sattio Winery. There are no tasting fees, and even gelato and horseshow games for kids out in the picnic area. It’s the perfect place to gather the family to grab a snack and a bottle of wine while the kids can still have fun in the Napa sunshine.
