Orlando is a city that is fun for the whole family. It is a perfect destination spot if you are looking to plan a family vacation full of amusement parks, including the iconic Disney Parks and SeaWorld Parks.
But what is a family vacation without Fido? He’s part of your family too, right? Fortunately, Orlando is a very pet-friendly city with numerous parks and restaurants that invite the furry ones to partake in the fun as well.
Check out our guide to pet-friendly spots in Orlando.
- Lake Eola Park is a very pretty park in downtown Orlando. The path around the lake is nearly one mile. In the middle of the lake is a spouting fountain. Lake Eola Park technically isn’t a “dog park,” but the area is very pet-friendly. There are several dog-related events that take place at the lake all the time. At any time of the day you’ll find people getting some exercise in with their pups. Poop bags are handy at many spots, although there is no fenced in area for dogs to play off-leash. Visitors can also rent charming swan boats at the lake. Also at the lake is the Walt Disney Amphitheater, which hosts many concerts throughout the year. In addition, there are many dog-friendly restaurants in the vicinity, and on Sundays there is a Farmer’s Market where dogs are always welcome.
- Fleet Peeples Park is a very family-friendly spot located in Winter Park. Fleet Peeples sits next to Lake Baldwin, which includes a sandy beach where dogs can swim and play in the lake off-leash and around the park as well. There is no specific fenced-in area, but this is an extremely popular Orlando destination for the pooches to mingle and play.
- Dr. P. Phillips Community Park is a very modern park that opened in 2007 that includes a specific fenced-in Dog Park. There is even another area specific to small dogs. The park overlooks Big Sand Lake. This park is the perfect place to bring your kids to cool down on a summer day, due to the large splash area and playground. There is a cement path where you and Fido can get some exercise. The park is very clean and well maintained.
- Venezia Bakery and Café is a charming bakery where dogs are allowed inside with you. Bring Fido inside to eat with you and enjoy the nice air conditioning and enjoy your coffee, fruit tart and free Wi-Fi.
