"San Jose del Cabo is reminiscent of an older time, where the days are longer and the mood softer. However, its attractions are just as desirable as the more upbeat Cabo San Lucas. The Old Jesuit Mission, known as Parroquia San José, has a history dating back to the 1730's, The Estero, an estuary with an endless variety of colorful birds and wildlife offers a serene and tranquil escape, and the many quaint shops and boutiques and fine restaurants beckon you to discover a treasure or two, then relax over local cuisine and a cool drink.

San José del Cabo has recognized what a quieter atmosphere with a historic downtown appeal offers, and the town is doing something about it. It’s protecting its charm by investing in the redevelopment of the downtown area, creating a pedestrian village. With the opening of the all-inclusive community at Club Campestre, world-class golf is no longer exclusive to The Corridor. Golfers can now play on the newest 18-hole Jack Nicklaus golf course in San José. The golf courses at Puerto Los Cabos, designed by Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman, will be playable in 2008. Buyers now have more choices than ever to own individual building sites as well as luxurious new homes, condominiums and fractional ownership along these magnificent new courses.

The condominium market is exciting in and around San José, with many new developments offering spectacular views from the hills of the Mayan Golf Course. The expansive beaches of San José have been going through a renovation process as well, and the area is now complete with the opening of the upscale privately owned condominiums and villas at Tortuga Bay. The elegant property’s first phase was 95% sold out within the first few months of pre-sales, giving testimony to the demands of luxury real estate buyers in Los Cabos.

The expansive, 1,900-acre master-planned resort Puerto Los Cabos, just east of San José del Cabo, was developed along three miles of pristine white-sand beach along the Sea of Cortés. More than luxurious residences, five-star hotels and unmatched amenities, what sets Puerto Los Cabos apart from other seaside enclaves is the magnificent new marina — a world-class port-of-call that is only the second in Los Cabos. After years of design and construction, the 535-slip marina opened last summer. In 2008, its full operation unfolds as more boats utilize the facility for activities like sportfishing, whale watching or simply cruising the sparkling sea. In addition, the resort’s two golf courses feature signature designs by Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman. The initial Nicklaus nine holes opened in fall 2007, with the first Norman nine to debut in spring 2008.

The dozens of individual homes now occupied or being built in Puerto Los Cabos reflect the community’s distinctive cultural identity as well as its luxurious ambience. Hacienda-style architecture updated with contemporary flair and modern comforts display the traditional Mexican blend of gracious formalities and warmhearted welcome.

Finally, the San José del Cabo Airport expansion project is currently under way. In a move aimed at accommodating the region’s tourist explosion, airport and tourism officials announced the airport would receive a number of upgrades in the next three years. Enhancements will include additional parallel landing strips to accommodate more flights, reconfigured highway access, a fourth terminal building that will adjoin a remodeled Terminal 3, and a new structure offering expanded car rental facilities, shops and business services. The expansion began in late summer 2007 and is slated for completion by early 2010."

Mediterranean
Overlooking the infinity-edge pool, Agua is an indoor/outdoor restaurant featuring renowned Mexiterranean Cuisine by Award Winning Executive Chef Larbi Dahrouch. In the evening, the moon reflecting on the water and the serenading musicians set the mood for a festive meal. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The palapa-roofed Agua Bar is an entertaining spot for light snacks and specialty drinks served in the afternoon and evening.
Brewery
The Baja Brewing Company is the only Brew Pub and Microbrewery in the state of Baja California. Our equipment was manufactured by Specific Mechanical Systems in Canada and has been in use at our brewery from the start. It all starts in the Brewhouse where the brewer does most of his work. The brewer must mill the malted barley, mash it with hot water, sparge it with hotter water and finally boil the wort and add the hops. After the “wort” or green beer is finished it is transferred into the fermenting vessel. There the yeast is added and the fermentation process begins. Primary fermentation may take a few days to a week. After that we reduce the temperature and let the beer finish fermenting and mature for 2 to 8 weeks depending on the style of beer we are creating. Next the beer is moved to a serving tank and finally into a pint or bottle.
Tex-Mex/American
Is a small palapa roofed restaurant that has earned a fabulous reputation. It is small and very casual with a sand floor situated in the middle of a lush Palm Garden, just a stones throw from the beach. The menu varies from Tex-Mex style, to all American with an eclectic variety of dinner and lunch specials. Breakfast is a combination of California Diner, Blue Berry Pan cakes, and fresh grated Hash Brown Potatoes and eggs, Fluffy Omelets and Mexican favorites like Huevos Rancheros and Chilaquiles. Our signature dishes include Coconut Shrimp with Pina Colada dipping Sauce, Our Breakfast Burrito can feed 2, and people say our Flan, Fish Tacos and Burgers are the best in Baja. Everything is prepared to order, and we use the freshest local ingredients available. Lunch and Dinnner is a combined menu offering hand formed, never frozen Hamburgers, Rib Eye Steaks, a variety of meal sized Salads. Chicken and Vegetarian meals. Fresh Fish, Shrimp and Scallops caught right out front in the beautiful Sea of Cortez, prepared in a variety of ways round out the menu. Kids of all ages love our home made Buzzard Toes (chicken fingers).
